one two originated in Beijing, China back in 1984. Again an everyday scenery - a mother cycling with her child in the shadow along a wall and a donkey cart parked in the afternoon sun. Maybe the child is and will be her only one, following the rules imposed by the Party. Two wheel transport was predominant in these days in China, cars were reserved for high ranked functionaries. Today, some 40 years later, we suspect the spot is not there anymore, rather covered by a high-rise buliding or a busy street, stacked with cars (or abandoned for Covid Lockdown). For sure the single child is grown up and the donkey cart is long gone. The composition is coincidental, yet strong in graphics with the afternoon sun providing distinct light and shadow contrast.
