eye bull originated in the bullfight arena of Redondo, Portugal. Portugese bullfights are different: the bull will not be killed at the end, but leave the arena alive in company of his lady friends, a herd of cows. His injuries however are real, meant to put the bull in rage to fight his tantalizer - coming on horses and later afoot. In the second part, eight unarmed men - called Forcados - face the bull in highest concentration. The first of the Forcados will fix the bull's eyes and provoce him for the final challenge.
eye bull captures this in a moment around midnight in August, in a roofed arena with temperatures well above 35 degrees Celsius, thousands of thrilled spectators: you can smell the sweat, feel the drama.

eye bull ist in der Stierkampfarena von Redondo in Portugal entstanden. Stierkämpfe in Portugal sind anders: der Stier wird nicht getötet, er wird die Arena lebend in Gesellschaft seiner Freundinnen, einer Herde Kühe verlassen. Seine Verletzungen sind allerdings real, zugefügt um seine Wut anzustacheln, auf dass er seine Peiniger angreife. Die kommen zu Pferd und später zu Fuß.Im zweiten Teil treten acht unbewaffnete Männer - Forcados genannt - dem Stier in höchster Konzentration gegenüber. Der erste der Forcados fixiert das Auge des Stiers und provoziert ihn, die finale Herausforderung anzunehmen.
