BMW M1

Estoril, Portugal

m one originated in Estoril, Portugal, on the once famous Grand Prix Circuit. The car is the racing version of a BMW M1, a supercar built from 1978 to 1981. At its time it was commercially not particularly successful, only 453 cars were made and not all of them sold easily. But it was an icon from the beginning for its design by Italdesign / Giorgetto Giugiaro and its sophisticated engine technology. In 1979 BMW created an own race series for the M1, called Procar. Procar races were performed as opening act to regular Formula 1 weekends with most of the world's best drivers competing in equal cars, attracting immense public attention. The car shown here comes in beautiful classic BMW M livery. There were other iconic liveries, but most notable was the 1979 ArtCar, a M1 Group 4 race car, painted by Andy Warhol. All of this and more contributed to the iconic image associated to this particular car, making it today one of the most sought after models of the brand.

m one was taken in the afternoon of a track day at the end of the long straight after the finish line. The pure graphics of the background and the light dynamic blur add to the aesthetic appearance of this glorious car.

m one is offered  as a numbered, signed original in limited editions, printed on premium quality foto paper, about 80x60 cm with a 3 cm white margin, without watermark.
